A fan uses the stage of the Esport tournament for a long-planned marriage proposal. Matching the audience, he finds the perfect words

For many of us, friendships have been formed over games or nurtured for years by sharing digital adventures. And some gamers have even met their true love first because of their hobby.

A fan of Dota 2 also shared an enthusiasm for the MOBA and its e-sports tournaments with his longtime girlfriend. Therefore, he used an event now for his marriage proposal.

A successful surprise

For his proposal, the fan came up with an excellent distraction, as reported by his girlfriend (on Reddit): During a break, he let caster Neal Tsunami Khandheria in on his plan, who a little later was asking fans in the audience about the tournament’s games so far coincidentally he also stopped by the two and struck up a conversation with the fan’s girlfriend. Meanwhile, he got down on his knees and pulled out the box with the ring. You can see the touching scene here:

In keeping with the occasion, the now happily engaged man chose the appropriate humorous words for his proposal. Feeden in the context of Dota means to play badly so that the opponents get an advantage:

We met eight years ago in a public lobby and started feeding together. And I want to keep feeding with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?

Happily, there was a Yes in response to the proposal, and the scene ended with a ring on her finger and rapturous applause from the audience. The fan’s fiancée thanked (on Reddit):

This will be one of the most cherished memories of our future, and I am very grateful to everyone who made this possible.

(In the Reddit thread) also admits Caster Tsunami was pretty nervous too. If the application had been rejected, he had no idea how to react. He therefore asked several times if the boyfriend was really sure that she would say yes.

What do you think of the idea of the now happily engaged Dota fan? Would you have dared to propose in front of a big crowd? Or do you not need an audience at all for something like this? Have you also met friends through gaming? Feel free to post it in the comments!
