In an extremely prestigious final of the Riyadh Masters 2023, Team Spirit prevailed over Team Liquid and can look forward to prize money of five million US dollars.

In the run-up to the event, the amount of prize money was already causing open mouths. Out of nowhere, the Riyadh Masters 2023 has become one of the most prestigious Dota 2 events of all time. The event is by far, with the exception of the World Championship “The International”, the most financially powerful Dota 2 tournament ever.

While the prize money at major events is in the “one million” range, the competition held in Saudi Arabia offered a total of 15 million US dollars. The largest share of this was finally snatched up by Team Spirit.

Two clashes, same winner twice

The grand final of the Riyadh Masters 2023 saw another clash between Team Liquid and Team Spirit. Both teams had previously had the pleasure of playing each other in the Upper Bracket final, at the end of which Spirit prevailed with a final score of 2-1. Liquid had to go through the lower bracket to the final. Here, Talon Esports was made short work of, which is why it then came to a final between, once again, Liquid and Spirit.

However, there was no surprise in the final. Team Spirit picked up exactly where they left off in the Upper Bracket final: Winning. Accordingly, the Grand Final was over after four rounds and Team Spirit was five million richer. Liquid, on the other hand, can be happy about a sum of 2.5 million US dollars.
