Patch 1.5 brings improvements and new content as well as the long-awaited next-gen update. The highlights and all patch notes at a glance.

After a long radio silence, Cyberpunk 2077 returns with a loud bang: Patch 1.5 is now available on all platforms and, in addition to numerous improvements and free DLC content, also finally brings the long-awaited next-generation update for consoles!

We summarise all the highlights of the new patch for you in this article.

How big will the download
be? On GOG, the update is 47.1 GB in size. Also on consoles the download size is around 50 GB if your game was previously updated.

The most important new features of Patch 1.5

With Patch 1.5, the developers continue to work on gameplay, the behaviour of the AI, quests, but also on the technology for PC and consoles. We have picked out the highlights of the new update for you here.

  • Improved Relationships: Romances with Panam, Kerry, River and Judy are enhanced with more text messages and interactions. And you’ll even wake up next to them sometimes – that’s all the developers are letting slip just yet.
  • New Perk System: Useless perks like “You won’t be detected under water” will be removed, others will be rebuilt or added. All your skill points will be reset for this, so remember to reallocate them!
  • Improved Driving: The new patch brings a burn-out mode for your vehicles. This should give you more freedom when drifting, braking at high speeds, precise manoeuvres or acceleration – whether with car or motorbike.
  • Skipping Holo Calls: You can now skip annoying phone calls if you don’t have time or don’t feel like listening to your fixer. They will send you a text message instead.
  • New content in Night City: The new patch brings new tasks to Night City that can be discovered by the player. The patch notes do not yet reveal what exactly they are. It is probably about new gigs and side quests. Of course, we’ll be on the hunt for you as soon as possible!
  • More aggressive NPCs: Some NPCs will now react more aggressively to your provocations. If you point a weapon at them or shoot, they will start a fight with you. They are also no longer supposed to just disappear into thin air
  • Map changes: New icons that separate main and fixer missions more clearly. Also new colours and filters that let you hide individual elements, all for more clarity.
  • Reputation with Fixers: V must now earn a reputation with the Fixers. As your reputation increases, fixers will contact you with more quests. New tasks will be added if you have already completed a certain amount of Fixer quests in a district (you will now also see how many gigs are offered). If you complete all of a Fixer’s quests, you will receive a special reward.
  • Walk: Finally there is a button on the PC to walk instead of run. Press G and enjoy your leisurely walk.
  • Realistic water: Finally, water reacts to different events in a physically correct way. For example, if you shoot at it now, the collision will create waves and splashes of water.

What do the free DLCs offer?

  • Change V’s appearance: Yes, that’s right! From now on you can customise V’s appearance – hair, makeup, piercings, etc. – on mirrors in your home. It’s completely free and you can change your hairstyles as often as you like. Plus, there are now even more hair colours, hairstyles and makeup to choose from.
  • Rent Apartments: From now on, V can rent four new flats in Night City, which should better suit your personal style and conveniently all share the inventory. Corpos can now get a luxury pad, streetkids will probably choose a smaller pad. To rent the flats, you must first complete the Takemura quest “Playing for Time”. Then you can find the flats in the city or via the EZEstates website on V’s computer. It is also possible to rent all the flats at the same time. Practical: All flats share a common inventory. Attention, cat Nibbles will not follow you, but will stay in V’s old flat!
  • Customise V’s Apartment: You can now customise your starting flat in Megabuilding H10. You can do this via the EZEstates website on V’s computer. There you will also see a preview of your new interior, which you can choose from 6 different styles (which cost you 10,000 Eddies each, by the way).
  • Temporary buffs from activities in the home: You can now do more little things that are just meant to set a mood. Lighting incense, playing the guitar and so on. Some of these, such as sleeping, now grant you small playful bonuses
  • Showering gives you the status “Refreshed” for one hour. Your health will now regenerate during battles.
  • Sleep gives you the status “Rested” for one hour. This will give you 20% more skill experience points.
  • Drinking coffee gives you the status “Wide awake” for one hour and increases your maximum stamina by 25 percent. In addition, your stamina regenerates 30% faster.
  • Photo Mode: If you want to take a rocking photo in Cyberpunk 2077, new poses are now available for Johnny Silverhand during flashbacks.
  • Two new weapons: Darra Polytechnic Umbra (Power Assault Rifle) and Budget Arm Guillotine (Power Machine Gun). You can buy these at Wilson’s Gun Shop or find them in Night City.
  • Four new scopes: Kang Tao Jue (Long Scope), Tsunami Gaki (Sniper Rifle Scope), Arasaka Kanetsugu (Short Scope), Handyman (Short Scope).
  • Ten new muzzle brakes: 5 for handguns (RC-7 Ifrit, RC-7 Liger, RC-7 Dybbuk, RC-7 Kutrub, RC-7 Babaroga), 5 for assault rifles and submachine guns (RC-7 Aswang, RC-7 Varkolak, RC-7 Zaar, RC-7 Yokai, RC-7 Strigoi).

Console players also have a lot to celebrate with Patch 1.5: Cyberpunk 2077 finally receives the long-awaited NextGen upgrade for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Gameplay on both consoles has just been shown in the livestream. You have the choice between performance and ray tracing mode and can also try out Cyberpunk 2077 in a free, 5-hour demo version. If you buy it afterwards, your save will be transferred.

Also coming for PC gamers are technical improvements like a benchmark mode, plus AMD FidelityFX Super Revolution is now supported.
