Cyberpunk 2077: How to adopt an iguana for Vs Apartment

In Cyberpunk 2077 you can not only adopt a cat after patch 1.5, but also an iguana in Vs Apartment. We’ll tell you how that works.

Nobody likes to be lonely. Especially not in the dystopian future of Cyberpunk 2077. That’s why, after patch 1.5, you can now get a second pet to keep naked cat Nibbles company: an iguana. In our guide, we’ll tell you how to adopt the reptile and let it move into V’s flat.

How to adopt an iguana in Cyberpunk 2077

Prerequisite: To adopt the Iguana in Cyberpunk 2077, you must have downloaded and installed patch 1.5. The reptile is not yet available in earlier versions.

Step 1: Find the Iguana Egg

First of all, you have to find the egg from which the iguana can later hatch. You can only find it in one place: In the penthouse of Yorinobu Arasaka, which is located in Konpeki Plaza:

• Enter the penthouse.

• To your left is a small tree trunk with an iguana sitting on it.

• Get your eyes on the far end of the log, there you can collect the egg.

You should collect the egg in Act 1 of Cyberpunk 2077 during the mission The Coup. This is the only point in the game where the developers have planned for you to enter Konpeki Plaza or the Penthouse.

Little hint: It’s best to remember to collect the two unique weapons in Yorinobu’s flat: The pistol (Kongou) next to Yorinobu’s bed and the katana (Satori) in Satoru’s shuttle on the rooftop landing platform.

What do I do if I have already finished The Coup?

If you have already completed The Coup and have not collected the Iguana Egg, this obviously complicates things. However, it’s not completely impossible to enter Konpeki Plaza and Yorinobu’s penthouse after Act 1 of Cyberpunk 2077 – even after patch 1.5.

To do this, you just have to cheat a little:

• Equip the cyberware implant Reinforced Hocks.

• Swim to Konpeki Plaza or park a car on the highway above the entrance gate to the hotel to enter the grounds via it.

• Go to the main entrance of Konpeki Plaza.

• Order a car to the main entrance of the hotel.

• Park the car parallel to the entrance door, which will be locked with a shutter.

• Now it gets fiddly: Put the car close enough to the front door and squeeze V in between – this should open the shutter.

• Now make your way through the hotel until you reach the spot where you broke through the glass with Jackie during the heist from above.

• Use the charged jump to get to the outside of the penthouse.

• The sliding door is still open, so you can enter the interior.

Step 2: Place the iguana egg in V’s apartment

If the iguana egg is in your possession, you must take it back to V’s flat. Note, however, that you must have completed Act 1 and the Playing for Time mission – that is, you must have met Takemura in Tom’s Diner.

Once you have done this, you will find a small bowl in the middle of the living area of V’s flat that you can interact with. Place the iguana egg in the dish above it and you can now move on to the final step of our guide.

Step 3: Wait, wait, wait

Now there’s not much you can do but wait. A damn long wait, to be precise. It can take up to two months in-game for your new pet iguana to hatch from its egg. But you can overuse Cyberpunk 2077’s wait function with a clear conscience. The best way to do this is as follows:

• Leave V’s flat – you shouldn’t wait in the flat.

• It’s best to run behind Wilson’s shop so you don’t get too close to the flat.

• Open the game menu and wait 24 hours.

• Repeat this procedure and visit your flat every 15 to 20 days to see if the iguana might have hatched yet.

It took us about 60 days before our scaly friend finally showed up. So bring a little patience with you.

Does the iguana replace Nibbles?

No, the iguana does not take Nibbles’ place in V’s flat. Both animals can share the flat – sometimes they even interact with each other. So if you’ve ever wanted to see a lizard cuddling with a naked cat, you’ll have the best opportunity to do so in Cyberpunk 2077 after patch 1.5.

Can the iguana move to another flat?

No, both the iguana and Nibbles will stay in V’s standard flat in the mega-building H10. Neither animal can move into one of the four additional flats that landed in Cyberpunk 2077 with patch 1.5.
