After some disappointing results, G2 Esports is planning a change within their own Counter-Strike team. Now two new players are to fix it.

In the coming days and weeks, G2 Esports will once again participate in a prestigious Counter-Strike tournament, the BLAST Premier Fall. However, recent results do not give much hope that the team will be able to make it to the finals. Time and again, the supposedly great Counter-Strike organisation has failed against smaller, sometimes larger opponents. With the signing of Justin “jks” Savage and Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, that should now change.

New players shall do the trick!

In particular, the transfer of Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen is contrary to G2’s previous signings. The player himself was a blank slate until a year ago, but managed to almost reach the Legends Stage in the course of the PGL Major Stockholm with his then team Copenhagen Flames. A great success for the roster at the time. A year later, the whole thing was to be topped again when the team finally managed to make it to the Legends Stage at the PGL Major Antwerp. Although the roster was quickly eliminated by ENCE, the Flames can still chalk this up as a success.

With G2 Esports, Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen is expected to bake bigger bread from now on. But unlike Justin “jks” Savage, Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen has only signed with G2 for the upcoming BLAST tournament. It is also not entirely clear how superstar Nikola “NiKo” Kovac will fit into the new line-up.

This year’s BLAST Premier Fall Groups will take place from 19 to 28 August. In addition to G2 Esports, teams Astralis, FaZe Clan, BIG, Complexity, Evil Geniuses, Heroic, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, as well as OG, Team Vitality and Team Liquid will also be taking part.
