The beta features one of the most famous game characters of all time with a rather unflattering hairstyle. Infinity Ward is now promising to fix it.
Traditionally, there’s a lot of discussion during the beta of a new Call of Duty, such as about SBMM or time-to-kill. But withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a completely different topic is currently sparking debate: the hairstyle of Captain Price, arguably the most famous character in the entire series.
Since the launch of the Early Access beta on August 21, screenshots have been circulating that show not much remains of his distinctive appearance. The magnificent beard is still somewhat intact, but above that, things look unflattering: thin, bristly, falling-out hair, deep dark circles under his eyes—all in all, a Price you’d expect to find in a drunk tank rather than in Team Deathmatch.

Within a few hours, hundreds of comments had piled up under the photo:

Why Price Looks Like This to Some People
According to Activision and Infinity Ward, this is an issue at the lowest detail level:The social media team responded to several posts from fans and explained that the hair isn’t rendered correctly at the lowest level of detail.
So anyone looking to conserve performance or who simply doesn’t have the most powerful computer will have to live with a bedraggled-looking Captain Price—at least for now. The developers have since promised that his full head of hair will return in a future patch.
Although no specific date has been given, the start of the open beta on August 28—when even non-pre-orderers can test the new game for free—would be a logical time for this update.
