Season 6 is coming and heralds the farewell of Verdansk. We gather all the info on launch time, content and the changes for Cold War.

Soon it’s time to say goodbye: Season 6 will probably be the last in which Call of Duty: Cold War sets the tone at Warzone – and also the last in which we hang out in familiar Verdansk. Because with CoD Vanguard, a new era is slowly but surely approaching!

Of course, we are once again collecting all the information about the release, new weapons, maps, modes and everything else that is exciting for CoD players about a new season. This article will be updated as soon as new details become known.

Start: When does Season 6 begin?

Normally, a season in Call of Duty lasts eight weeks. The Battle Pass of Season 5 already reveals when Season 6 will start: on 7 October 2021. However, this date can be shifted by a few days at short notice, which also happened in the last season.

The release of Vanguard may also change the usual schedule. The next Call of Duty will be released on 5 November and is to be merged with Warzone again. This would coincide almost seamlessly with the usual mid-season update, so perhaps Vanguard content will launch as early as Season 6 Reloaded?

According to rumours, the first joint season of Battle Royale and WW2-CoD will then start in the days around 23 November 2021 – but there is no official confirmation yet.

Map: What changes are coming up?

Season 6 will probably be the last one in which we play in Verdansk. The new Pacific map, which is composed of Vanguard maps, is scheduled for release in 2021. Therefore, we strongly suspect that the developers have come up with some special ideas for the farewell – after all, the change to the upgraded Verdansk ’84 was also celebrated with an explosive event.

As soon as we know what exactly will change for you, we will of course let you know. In the meantime, here are some previews of the new map:

What else is new?

We firmly expect that there will be at least three new weapons, as usual. However, it is not yet known which models these will be. Maybe there will be a new sniper after a long time?

It will also be exciting to see how many world war weapons Vanguard will soon bring to Warzone in one fell swoop. The Battle Royale already has by far the largest armoury of all CoDs. Read more about the expanded armoury and familiar guns here:

In addition to the weapons, there are also guaranteed to be new playlists in Season 6. Many players would like to see the new, limited-time Iron Trials mode permanently added to the rotation. For many, it offers exactly what they have always hoped for from Warzone.

Is there a Halloween event again?

2020’s Zombie Royale was a huge success and is still considered by many Warzone fans to be the best event yet. Since Halloween falls in Season 6, it is obvious that the developers will come up with a suitable action again. It is not yet known whether you will become a powerful undead yourself.

Leaks are already talking about an event called All Hallows Eve, in which you can unlock two horror operators: Ghostface from Scream and Frank, the creepy bunny from Donnie Darko. In 2020, Jigsaw and Leatherface had appeared in Warzone.

What happens in Cold War?

First teasers from the developers hint at new content for the Outbreak mode. Several images have been posted on Twitter with the hashtag SeasonSix, the most recent showing a rather hungry looking beast:

What about the Battle Pass?

Season 6 will again offer a free and a premium Battle Pass. By collecting experience points (i.e. playing matches), you will rise in rank and thus unlock rewards. Weapons are in the free version, most cosmetic content is only available for paying players.

The pass costs 1,000 CoD points (about 10 euros) or 2,400 points (about 20 euros) if you want to unlock the first 20 ranks directly.
