Call of Duty: Warzone gets the long-awaited new map. This time it’s in the Pacific. We provide you with all the information about the setting, size and release.

With Call of Duty: Vanguard, a fresh Pacific breeze is blowing through the battle royale Warzone. Because finally the new map, long awaited by many fans, is released. And this time it’s much more than just an 80s reskin for Verdansk – the new map has a completely different setting that should make for exciting gameplay changes.

We collect all official info on the release and content of the Pacific map. Over the course of the next few weeks, the developers plan to reveal a lot more – we’ll keep you up to date with the latest news!

This is the new Pacific map from Warzone

First pictures: The tropical island on which we will play Warzone in the future does not have a name yet. But you can already get a first impression, the first pictures show the new pacific setting:

How big will the new map be?

Bigger and more packed: The map should be at most a little bigger than Verdansk, but much more packed. This should provide more variety, which most players will probably welcome after two years on the same map.

It is not known whether this will also affect the maximum number of players. Presumably, the Battle Royale will stick to the familiar match sizes, and we also expect solos, duos, trios and quads as well as a regular playlist rotation.

What’s the setting and locations?

This time the battle arena consists of an island in the Pacific Ocean, of course at the time of the Second World War. Thanks to palm-lined beaches, spectacular rock formations and a deep blue sea, you almost get a bit of a holiday feeling – which will probably quickly disappear when the bullets start whistling around our ears. Nevertheless, the atmosphere is already quite different from the grey-brown Verdansk.

Screenshots show that: There’s no full trailer yet, but during the multiplayer reveal of Vanguard, short scenes of the new warzone map were shown. We have screenshots for you:

Among other things, you can see these places:

  • Fishing village on the coast, more settlements inland
  • Hills in the interior of the island
  • Radio tower
  • Serpentine roads
  • A bridge
  • A building marked Royal, probably a hotel

When will the new map appear

Release still 2021: There is no concrete release date yet, but it should be in 2021. Since Call of Duty Vanguard will be released on 5 November 2021, we expect the new map in the second half of November. Presumably it will be released with the new Season 1.

Will Verdansk be replaced?

Yes, Verdansk will apparently be completely replaced by the new Pacific map. It is still unclear what will happen to the smaller map Rebirth Island. Presumably there will also be a replacement for it.

Will there be seasons, events and expansions again?

Long support planned: The developers are once again promising support and content updates for a longer period of time, and are currently talking about at least the entire year 2022. A lot of free content is to be released gradually, for example new game modes, special events and content from new multiplayer maps.

Is the anti-cheat coming with the map?

Yes, the announced anti-cheat will take effect directly with the release of the new map. This should finally put a stop to the hordes of cheaters that have plagued Warzone to date. So far, however, some cheaters have shown themselves to be quite unimpressed by the measures taken by the developers.

Rumour: Dynamic Weather on the New Map?

Weather events in Warzone? The well-known leaker Tom Henderson claims on Twitter that Call of Duty Vanguard will get dynamic weather on the multiplayer maps. If this is true, then there could also be weather events in Warzone for the first time, after all the two games share an engine and are supposed to be technically matched to each other to a large extent.

However, nothing official is known about this yet, it is possible that the weather phenomena shown are not dynamic events at all, but rather fixed conditions on certain maps.

What do you think of the new warzone map? Are you looking forward to the changes or will you miss Verdansk? Would you like to see a map rotation like in other Battle Royales? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
