US streamer and Youtuber Dr Disrespect wants to take legal action against the platform Twitch after being banned in 2020.

It has been over a year since Dr Disrespect was permanently banned on the streaming platform Twitch. This in turn led to a switch to competitor YouTube, where he has been successful ever since. The polarising streamer has since spoken out about the ban, saying he knows the reason why he was banned from the platform and that it has been a “rollercoaster of emotions” for him.

Dr Disrespect reiterates that there is a big reason why he is not speaking publicly and in his YouTube streams about the Twitch ban. The US native claims he is in the process of suing Twitch, and he seems pretty confident about the outcome. “There’s a reason why, I’ve known for months. There’s a reason why we’re fucking suing them. ”

If a lawsuit does indeed happen, it could become a special case given Dr Disrespect’s notoriety and the size of Twitch as a streaming platform. It is possible that the lawsuit of “PhantomL0rd” could be consulted, who took Twitch to court for its non-transparent ban culture, among other things.

There could also be potential consequences for other Twitch streamers, should the outcome of a possible court case be in Dr Disrespect’s favour. He is known as a personality who rarely minces his words and is not stingy with criticism. In recent months, his criticism of Call of Duty publisher Activision has been mounting. In the wake of this, Dr Disrespect wants to take a hand in the industry himself with his own development studio.
