Eric Barone promises more content than ever before for the patch. In addition to Clint and Sandy as marriage candidates, a new farm type is also likely in store for players.
Stardew Valley is set to receive a wealth of new content with Update 1.7. Developer Eric Barone recently hinted at just how large this update might be, which could delight many longtime fans. He also mentioned a possible release window for 2027 for the first time.
Update 1.7 Could Surpass All Previous Updates
Barone spoke about Update 1.7 during a concert for *Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons*. This took place during the performance at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. A fan recorded this and later posted it on a Reddit forum. He said: “We’re currently working on Update 1.7, which could turn out to be the biggest update in Stardew Valley’s history. It’s packed to the brim with new content.”
This means Update 1.7 is likely to far surpass its two major predecessors, 1.5 and 1.6. Among other things, those updates introduced new areas, festivals, and additional content.
Clint and Sandy are just the beginning
The developer also mentioned that there will be more than just new marriage candidates: “Clint and Sandy are just the tip of the iceberg—the update has so much more to offer.”
In addition, a new farm type may be in store for fans, and Barone has already hinted at new social features. However, there are no concrete details yet on what these might look like. So it remains exciting to see what else players can expect from the update.
Barone is aiming for a release of Update 1.7 sometime in 2027. He hasn’t specified an exact date yet. Even though the outlook for a new Stardew Valley update is positive, fans can also look forward to *Haunted Chocolatier*, which is still a ways off and is also taking up a lot of Barone’s attention. Unfortunately, his new project doesn’t have an estimated release date yet, but it’s intended more for players who loved exploring the mines in Stardew Valley.
