Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is now available to play on your iPhone or Android smartphone.

This adaptation of the boomer shooter—originally released by Auroch Digital for PC and consoles—is now available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

“The overwhelming enthusiasm during the pre-registration phase truly blew us away. We’re all the more excited to finally put the game in the hands of the community, and we’re already very eager to hear the feedback,” says Jussi Tähtinen, CEO and co-founder of Nitro Games, the studio responsible for the port.

Try it for free, just like in the old days: The Boltgun Boom model

The mobile version is available under the name Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom and lets you try out the first three levels for free. If you like what you’ve experienced so far, you can unlock the rest with a one-time in-app purchase—just like back in the good old days of shareware. There are no ads or any systems that force you to wait.

In Boltgun, you play as a Space Marine and fight from a first-person perspective on vast battlefields overrun by Chaos. Cultists, traitors, and demons await you there, and you’ll take them down with your extensive arsenal of weapons.

Retro Shooter on the Go: Campaign, Touch Controls, and Part 2

The campaign of this retro shooter takes you across multiple worlds, with controls and game systems naturally adapted for mobile platforms.

Meanwhile, Auroch Digital is already working on the sequel, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2, which is set to be released on October 14, 2026.
