The Tarnished Mirror brings fresh content to the stealth classic. A humorous video from the developers directly addresses the latest rumors.
Nightdive Studios has officially confirmed The Tarnished Mirror. This is a new campaign for the upcoming Thief: The Dark Project Remastered. The announcement comes just a few days after the name was already leaked to the public via a massive leak of Steam achievements.
The studio packaged the news in a tongue-in-cheek and extremely self-deprecating teaser video. The clip directly alludes to how the reveal ultimately came about. You can watch it right here:
Self-deprecating teaser: Major reveal set for November
As PC Gamer aptly notes, the teaser trailer immediately addresses the flood of leak speculation right from the start. The video then ends with artwork of protagonist Garrett by illustrator Alexandru “Dominus” Negoita, as well as the new logo for The Tarnished Mirror. The developers have scheduled the big, full reveal for November 2.
Fittingly, master thief Garrett comments in the teaser: “Well… not quite so secret anymore, is it?”
Apart from the name and the mere confirmation, however, Nightdive is still keeping things under wraps. The creators haven’t yet revealed exactly what awaits us in *The Tarnished Mirror*. But the developers are likely saving those details for the November presentation.
4K, 120 fps, and quality-of-life updates: Here’s what the remaster offers
Nightdive announced *Thief: The Dark Project Remastered* back in June. At the time, the studio promised significant visual upgrades as well as practical quality-of-life improvements—including a weapon wheel and free mission selection. Support for 4K and 120 fps is also firmly on the agenda.
