There’s been radio silence since the first leaked clips. Now the studio is breaking its silence.
In a statement to its fans, Rockstar Games has responded to the ongoing leaks fromGTA 6. This is the studio’s first public statement since the leaks began on August 18 (GlobalESportNews reported).
Heartbreaking Affair
In theopen letter, Rockstar writes that the leaks have taken a heavy toll on its employees:
It would be an understatement to say that the leaked videos of GTA 6 are a heartbreaking ordeal for our team. It is, of course, not how we intended to present the game to you after all this time.
Just recently, industry insider and journalist Jason Schreier published a report stating that many developers at Rockstar are angry, frustrated, and exhausted as a result of the leaks.
We’re truly sorry
In its new statement, however, Rockstar also apologizes to fans for the long wait and the prolonged silence. The community has repeatedly criticized the fact that no gameplay footage from GTA 6 has been shown so far—not even after pre-orders began.
We’re very sorry that it’s taken us so long to finish developing the game (we’re almost there!), to show more details and official gameplay, and to explain everything the community wants to know.
We are fully aware of the high expectations and are working hard to meet them. Rockstar also expresses regret that GTA 6 may be marred for some due to leaked story spoilers.

We’re really looking forward to everyone seeing the extended preview tomorrow. Positive Surprise Among Fans
Fans are reacting with pleasant surprise to the news—because here, Rockstar is showing a side of itself that’s unusually approachable, one that you don’t usually get to see or hear.
Many users agree: While the company’s other statements are usually cool, distant, and corporate in tone, this one feels comparatively very human.
