LEGO is getting its own city-building simulation from Paradox and the developers of Cities: Skylines 2.

At gamescom’s Opening Night Live, dozens of new games were unveiled for 2026. Among them this year was the first spin-off of the hit city-building gameCities: Skylines. It’s titled Lego Skylines andlets you design your own Lego cities.

A Dream Come True

What Kind of Game Is This?In this colorful and laid-back city-building simulation, you start with a single, empty lot on which you build your first house. This eventually grows into a small neighborhood, then a charming town, and eventually a bustling metropolis.

Unlike Cities: Skylines, Lego Skylines places a much greater emphasis on letting you develop your own city according to your visual preferences. With unique buildings, decorations, and customization options, there are virtually no limits.

According to a press release from Paradox, the goal is,to build everything exactly where you want it—and that’s, of course, exactly where it belongs.

There is a bit of reality to it: To a certain extent, despite all the freedom you have, you’ll need to pay attention to your city’s functionality. Otherwise, complications will arise and residents will become frustrated. The basics—such as water, electricity, food, and roads—are especially important. Beyond that, however, you have a great deal of flexibility in how you make yourself and your residents happy.

To that end, you have extras at your disposal such as parks, unique shops, production facilities, and jobs. For example, if you want to have at least one bakery on every street, no one will stop you.

On which platforms will LEGO Skylines be released? The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam).

When will the game be released? There is no release date yet. However, a realistic estimate is 2027 at the earliest.

Who is developing LEGO Skylines?

Lego Skylines is being developed by the Finnish studio Iceflake Studios. The studio previously worked onCities: Skylines 2andSurviving the Aftermathand has considerable experience with management and city-building games. Before being acquired by Paradox Interactive in 2020, they worked on a wide variety of genres. These include the fishing simulation *Ice Lake*, which was also published by Paradox in 2016.
