Wardogs Is Coming Soon to Early Access: Developers List 10 Reasons Not to Buy the Shooter

Team17’s large-scale action game is coming to Steam in September. Pre-order now to secure access to the exclusive closed beta.

Bulkhead and Team17 confirmed this evening that the shooter Wardogs will launch in Early Access on Steam on September 10, 2026. Pre-orders are now available there.

If you purchase the title on Valve’s platform, you’ll receive guaranteed access to the closed beta weekend, which takes place from August 21 to 23, 2026.

New Video and Core Gameplay

To coincide with the announcement, there’s also a brand-new video to check out. In it, the developers list “10 Reasons Not to Buy Wardogs.” They cover topics such as early access content, pricing, performance, monetization, and controller support.

According to both companies, Wardogs is on more than 800,000 Steam wishlists. The game transports you to the Control Zone, where 100 players—divided into three rival teams—battle it out.

Your goal is to take control, secure cash, and survive long enough to actually bring the loot home. The game promises tactical gunplay, combined-arms combat, building and destruction mechanics, and extensive teamplay.

In-Game Economy, Map Size, and Early Access Price

“Every death, every vehicle purchase, every route, and every decision has tangible consequences,” the game states. “Every outcome is directly reflected in your virtual bank account. Money here isn’t just a high score. Your balance strictly determines what risks you can take. It decides what equipment and vehicles are available to you—and how much you’ll lose if you make a fatal mistake.”

At the start of Early Access, three different maps will be available, each offering three distinct variations. You can expect a mix of infantry and vehicle combat, while local voice chat will be audible to all three teams.

The Early Access price is $39.99, which is not the same as the price the game will cost upon its final release. During the Early Access phase, the development team plans to focus entirely on stability, performance, balancing, and bug fixes, while also addressing feedback from the community.
