The successful indie project has already attracted half a million fans to its demo. This laid-back co-op adventure will launch first on PC in October.
With “Over the Hill,” a “cozy off-road trip” from the creators of “Art of Rally” is coming soon.
Funselektor and Strelka announced today that the PC version of the game will be released on October 14, 2026. Versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 will follow in 2027.
A demo recently released on Steam has already proven quite successful, with more than 500,000 players giving it a try. The game is also on more than 1.2 million wishlists.
Vehicles, Co-op Gameplay, and Teamwork
In “Over the Hill,” you hop into a vehicle inspired by classic 4×4 off-roaders from the ’60s through the ’80s and blaze your trail through various biomes based on real-world locations.
Whether playing solo or in co-op mode with up to three friends, you’ll cruise leisurely through the landscapes or tackle off-road routes. You can also work together as a team and use planks, winches, and other equipment to clear obstacles out of the way.
Biomes, Dynamic Environment, and Vehicle Upgrades
The developers promise, among other things, dense forests, idyllic lakeshores, and rugged mountains. There, you’ll find secluded cabins, fantastic viewpoints, natural landmarks, meteorites, and even portals that catapult you into new areas. The game also features dynamic weather and a day-night cycle.
With your in-game camera, you can also snap photos of wild animals to complete your compendium, and you’ll find upgrades and useful gear throughout the game world to pimp out your vehicle.
