The end of the Early Access phase for the hunting simulation was revealed at the THQ Nordic Showcase. It launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S at the end of September.
Way of the Hunter 2 has been available in Early Access for a while now, and the final release date was announced during the THQ Nordic Showcase.
Version 1.0 of the hunting simulation will be released on September 29, 2026, for PC—and the game will also debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on the same day.

“Way of the Hunter 2 perfectly combines the beauty of nature with the pure thrill of the hunt,” writes THQ Nordic. “Encounter the fascinating wildlife of North America in New Laurentia. Or roam the lush wilderness of Africa in the Kilimaya Reserve. The developers also already have countless new content updates in the pipeline for future releases that you can look forward to.”
Among other things, the game aims to impress with authentic gear from real brands, including Bergara, Bushnell, Christensen Arms, Strasser, and Zeiss.
Until the release of version 1.0, you can of course continue tojoin the Early Access on Steam; the game has received “mostly positive” reviews there.
Hunting Dog, Shot Analysis, and Hunting Lodge Features
On your virtual hunt, you’ll be accompanied by your hunting dog, among other things. It tracks trails, finds blood trails, and locates injured animals; you can also improve its abilities through movement and training.
Meanwhile, with the improved shot camera, you can analyze every shot in terms of trajectory, speed, angle, and point of impact. In between, you can relax in your hunting lodge. There, you plan excursions, display trophies, and unlock upgrades.
