While PC and console players will face off against the Xenomorphs as early as August, the port for the new Nintendo hardware will follow shortly thereafter.
Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Game Company have confirmed a Switch 2 version of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2.
The port for the Nintendo console is expected this fall. For the other platforms—PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S—the title will be released on August 25, 2026.
Fireteam Elite 2 picks up where its 2021 predecessor left off, in which you fought hordes of aliens alongside two other players (human or AI). The sequel builds on that foundation and increases the squad size to four.
Official Game Description and New Special Classes
“In Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, you and up to three teammates step into the combat boots of the Colonial Marines,” reads the game’s description. “Your mission? The most hostile corners of the Alien universe. Forget classic rescue missions—this is a brutal fight for sheer survival. Xenomorphs roam the corridors and lurk in the shadows. They attack in massive swarms and try to overwhelm you with sheer numbers. Every room could be your last.”
“So coordinate perfectly with your fireteam! Use the unique abilities of the different classes and adapt your tactics on the fly. A situation that starts out calm can escalate into a merciless war in a matter of seconds. AFE2 delivers deeper squad mechanics, significantly smarter enemies, and a fully customizable Specialist class. In short: You’re in for the absolute ultimate co-op experience in the Aliens universe.”
Maybe this is just the right, action-packed warm-up for you before you have to be much more cautious again in the upcoming Alien: Isolation 2 in 2027.
