As early as March 2026, we knew that the wuxia action game had sold over a million copies. The title had a fairly successful launch,as industry analysts reported at the time. Just a few months later, however, the core team at developer Leenzee apparently disbanded. According to reports, key executives left the studio. The remaining team simply refused to continue working solely as a support studio in the future.
Stable Player Numbers Despite a Lack of Updates
Despite the departure of key developersWuchang: Fallen Feathers continues to rack up impressive numbers. And this is despite the fact that user ratings on Steam are overall only “Mixed” and the game hasn’t received a single update since November 20, 2025.

What is Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a dark, Souls-like action RPG set in the late Ming Dynasty of China. The wuxia adventure was originally developed by Studio Leenzee before the intellectual property rights were sold in April 2026.
New Studio Founded and Brand Rights Sold
Xia Siyuan, the producer and director of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, has since founded a new studio. Additionally, the Italian publisher and developer Digital Bros acquired the full brand rights to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers in April. The deal cost the company a hefty 4 million euros. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the franchise.
