The next cosmetic DLC, “Blütezeit,” is coming soon and focuses on flowers. But it includes more than just flower beds.
The next DLC for Anno 117: Pax Romana is coming on June 18! While it’s “just” a cosmetic add-on, it can still offer added value—especially for the “beauty farmers” among you! The next DLC is called Blütezeit and focuses on all kinds of flowers and plants.
The developers announcedon Twitchand via blog postalready given you a taste of what to expect in the DLC—and the result issome of the most beautiful compositions we’ve ever seen in Anno. With these, you can certainly add a whole lot of color to your cities!
What’s in the expansion
The Flowers
As mentioned, Blütezeit is all about flowers. That’s why the new flower fields form the backbone of the DLC. These aren’t just simple flower beds; they’re full-fledged flower regions that, thanks to the new polygon system, you can easily squeeze into tiny corners just like the mosaics or grain fields in the game.
This is how the flower fields nestle against roads or walls. It also helps you create artistically sophisticated gardens by combining different flowers or using mosaics and squares. A randomization system ensures that small irregularities make everything feel natural.
In addition to tons of flower fields for poppies, dandelions, wildflowers, or lilies, there are even more new plants. These include many different trees, such as fig trees, stone pines, or palm trees.
Magnificent Ornaments
But the DLC doesn’t just bring plants into the game. There are also numerous statues, fountains, walls, and gardens that you can use to further beautify your Roman parks. Most important of all, however, is the Temple of Flora!

The temple also makes quite an impression at night, because the developers have taken a few historical liberties in the name of beauty. For example, the waterfalls are illuminated so they glow beautifully in the dark. Of course, something like that wouldn’t have existed in the year 117, but the goal here was simply to please the eye.
By the way, to match the temple, you can now also spruce up the aqueducts, which get a pretty blue-and-white paint job with the DLC.
Not part of the Season Pass
As always with cosmetic DLCs: These expansions are not included in the Season Pass! You’ll have to purchase each one separately if you want access to the new ornaments. The last cosmetic pack cost 7 euros. We assume that the price will also apply to Blossom Season.
If you own the Season Pass, however, you can look forward to the next major DLC very soon! In August, the Hippodrome expansion—the greatest wonder of the world in Anno history—will be released. With it, you can place the mighty Circus Maximus in your city!
