The wait for Valve’s next big VR hardware release appears to be coming to an end—and the internet is once again beating the official PR department to the punch.
A brand-new leak offers a first concrete look at theupcoming Steam Frame hardwareand reveals what the first steps with the new VR headset will look like.
A video that appeared on Redditis said to show the device’s “Welcome Tour” and demonstrate in detail what future owners can expect when setting up the new Valve headset right after unboxing it.

The leaked video not only offers a sneak peek at the user interface but also reveals quite a bit about how user-friendly Valve intends to make the entry into its new VR ecosystem.
Similar to the Steam Deck, Valve apparently plans to rely on a highly visual setup for the Steam Frame as well.
The setup tutorial shows several key steps that players must complete after putting on the headset for the first time. Among other things, you can see parts of the controller setup and how players can access the dashboard and what it looks like.
The video was recorded using the Valve Index, so this is not a leak involving the new Steam Frame hardware.
Even though the video doesn’t reveal any new technical details about the hardware itself, it provides insight into Valve’s priorities. The Welcome Tour clearly focuses on making setup as simple as possible and lowering the barrier to entry for VR newcomers.
The tutorial shown is reminiscent in its design of modern onboarding processes on other VR platforms such as Meta Quest or PlayStation VR2. Valve appears to place great emphasis on integration into the existing Steam ecosystem. Menus, icons, and navigation structures are clearly modeled after SteamOS and Big Picture mode.

Valve has not commented on the leak. However, the fact that such a tutorial is already circulating on the internet is usually a reliable sign that the official unveiling might not be too far off.
Only then will there be concrete information about the hardware, the features of the Steam Frame, the price, and the release date.
