Sony will launch a trio of accessories this year. Here are the details.

If you want to take your gaming setup to the next level, you might want to start by clearing some space on your desk. August has two early gifts in store for PS5 fans.

As Sony now reports in a detailed hands-on review, the manufacturer plans to launch a trio of accessories later this year. It all kicks off in August with the “FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick” and Sony’s own monitor. In addition, the “Pulse Elevate” speakers are also set to hit the market later this year.

The PS5 hardware trio in detail

Sony is spreading out the release of the new hardware. While fixed dates in August have already been set for two products, audio fans will have to wait a little longer for the release date.

First up is the FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick, which officially launches on August 6 and can be pre-ordered starting June 12 at 10 a.m. It is the first in-house wireless arcade stick for the PlayStation 5. Sony lists the price at around 200 euros.

According to Sony, the arcade stick is compatible with both the PS5 and PC. It comes with a protective carrying case with a strap and a Link adapter, and features a rechargeable battery.

Sony revealed further details last year:

  • Sony promises “ultra-low latency”
  • The PS Link adapter allows the use of two Fight Sticks or one Fight Stick and the Pulse Elite headset.
  • According to Sony, the stick is designed for comfort and stability. It features specially angled surfaces, a non-slip base for a secure grip, and a custom digital stick.
  • A standard DualSense controller can remain connected to the Fight Stick at the same time without any issues.
  • The FlexStrike offers all the familiar input buttons of the DualSense controller, including the touchpad. Additionally, there are customization options: Directional inputs can be switched via a special switch. A dedicated lock button also prevents accidental button presses in the heat of battle.

A new 27-inch monitor for PC, Mac, and PlayStation

The new 27-inch PlayStation monitor is set to be released on August 27 and will be available for pre-order starting June 12. Sony has not yet announced a price for Germany, but according to Cnet, the monitor will cost $350 in the U.S.

Sony also revealed details about this last year:

  • QHD IPS screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, Variable Refresh Rate, and up to 120 Hz on the PS5 and up to 240 Hz on PC and Mac.
  • Connections: Two HDMI 2.1 inputs, DisplayPort 1.4, two USB-A ports, and one USB-C port, 3.5 mm jack, VESA-compatible.
  • Stereo speakers are built-in.
  • Auto HDR tone mapping is supported.
  • Mount for PS5 controllers.

In addition, Sony plans to release the Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers this year. Sony has not yet announced any official release dates or a price for these speakers.

The speakers utilize planar magnetic drivers, which, according to Sony, “are designed to reproduce sound across the audible frequency spectrum with near-fidelity.” They are said to provide approximately 12 hours of playtime before the rechargeable battery needs to be connected to a power source.
