Subnautica 2 launches in Early Access in just a few days. The system requirements have now been revealed.

On May 14, the developers at Unknown Worlds will release the long-awaited sequel to Subnautica in Early Access. The developers have now also published the system requirements for the survival game.

Subnautica 2: Here are the system requirements

Subnautica 2 is a highly anticipated title, and not just within the Gamestar community. It ranks first among the most-wished-for titles on Steam, beating out games like Forza Horizon 6 and the Gothic 1 Remake.

In less than two weeks, players will be able to dive back into Subnautica. The official system requirements reveal the level of detail you can expect on your PCs.

The developers are using Unreal Engine 5 for Subnautica 2, which represents a major technical leap forward. However, this also means that the requirements have increased significantly in a direct comparison.

While the predecessor could still run withrecommended settingsusing just 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 550 Ti, the new installment requires twice the amount of RAM and at least an RTX 3070 or an RX 6700 XT.

Even the absolute minimum requirements for a modest 30 FPS already call for a PC with at least 12 GB of RAM and a GTX 1660 or comparable graphics card.

Even though the requirements are more demanding on PCs compared to the predecessor, they fit seamlessly into the ranks of current top-tier titles.

Now we want to hear your opinion: Looking at the requirements table, will your current computer handle the trip to the new underwater worlds, or are you planning a hardware upgrade soon anyway?
