Paradox Interactive is celebrating the tenth anniversary of Stellaris with a radical reimagining. Season 10 takes you away from static borders and into a life as interstellar nomads. At the center of it all are the Archaic Ships, which visually bear a striking resemblance tothe Citadel from Bioware’s Mass Effect role-playing game seriesand will henceforth house your entire civilization.
With the Nomads expansion in the second quarter of 2026, you’ll no longer be bound by traditional colonization. Your mobile homeworlds serve as flying fortresses, laboratories, or industrial hubs. You use trade routes and can rise to become the galaxy’s guardian or wipe out entire systems with the new star cannon. To celebrate the anniversary on May 11Paradox is also permanently integrating the Utopia and Synthetic Dawn DLCs, as well as the Humanoids Pack, into the base game.
Stellaris alternative:Beyond Astra has big ambitions and stylish space battles
In the fourth quarter of 2026, Willpower will follow as an expansion that introduces ideologies as a means of power. Additional scenarios let you travel through the stars in roguelike style or, for the first time, terrorize the galaxy as a crisis yourself. With updates 4.4 Pegasus through 4.6 Corona Borealis, 2026 is set to remain highly exciting for space strategists.
