The next major expansion for Diablo 4, “Lord of Hatred,” is coming in April. In addition to new areas and further story elements, one question in particular remains unanswered: Which second class will be introduced with the add-on?
Blizzard had already presented the Paladin as a pre-order bonus at the 2026 Game Awards. Since then, however, there have been no further official details about the second class. Now, however, new material has emerged within the community.
Concept art appears in subreddit
A suspected leaked concept image has been shared in the Diablo 4 subreddit. This is being interpreted as an indication that the second class could take a much darker direction than the Paladin.
However, it is not clear exactly which class is being shown. According to the report, this is concept material, which does not necessarily reflect the final implementation.
Theory: Blood Knight could appear in Diablo 4
One name in particular is being mentioned in the discussion: the Blood Knight. This class is currently only known from Diablo Immortal. The current theory is that the Blood Knight could be incorporated into a main game as a new class.
In Diablo Immortal, the Blood Knight is a mixed melee and ranged class. It is also described as having vampiric powers and supernatural strength.
Blizzard had previously ruled out the class
The report points out that Blizzard had stated before the release of Diablo 4 that the Blood Knight would not appear in Diablo 4. Whether this stance has changed in the meantime is unclear. There has been no official confirmation.
Other ideas: Warlock or return of the Witch Doctor
In addition to the Blood Knight, other possibilities are also being discussed. Among others, a Warlock is mentioned as a possible new class. There is also speculation that the Witch Doctor from Diablo 3 could return.
Again, there is no confirmation. The classification is based solely on community discussions surrounding the leaked image.
With “Lord of Hatred,” Diablo 4 is expected to offer eight classes
The report also mentions the current status of class distribution. Diablo 4 started with five classes: Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, and Sorcerer. Later, the Spiritborn class was added with “Vessel of Hatred.”
With “Lord of Hatred,” the total number of classes is now set to increase to eight.
Diablo stream announced for February 11
Blizzard is currently hosting several “Spotlight Showcase” streams for its core brands. A Diablo stream is planned for February 11 to accompany the series’ 30th anniversary.
Further information about the new class could also be revealed during this event. However, no specific details were mentioned in the report.
