In a new blog post, Ubisoft gives a preview of the near future of Anno 117. But why are they apologizing for snow?
Anno 117 was released in 2025, but 2026 is when things really get going! As with its predecessor, the developers want to take the helm once again and steer their new game through DLC waters. But there are also a number of updates in the pipeline that are intended to make the building game even better, completely free of charge.
Ubisoft has now spoken out with a New Year’s message and has a small roadmap in tow. There are no details yet on the next patch 1.3.2 , but at least there is a concrete date:
The update will be released in just a few weeks. We’ll keep our eyes peeled and let you know exactly what the patch will change in Anno 117. Of course, it won’t be over after that. Another patch is planned for the second half of February.
The first major DLC, Promise of the Volcano, is scheduled for release in April. We’ll probably learn more about this in the coming weeks. So far, all we know is that there will be a huge island, a destructive volcano, and a new deity.
Apology for too much snow
Finally, the team takes the opportunity to apologize for all the snow. Didn’t you notice? No wonder this Easter egg was quickly disabled again on the PC. Over the Christmas holidays, a small patch conjured up falling snow in the Roman Empire.
Which is an understatement. It was a veritable blizzard that descended on Anno 117! Fans on social media were quite confused. In some places, they could hardly see the game due to the masses of snow:
y'all maybe wanna take another crack at this snow, blue byte?

Worse still, the snow caused performance to plummet for some people, meaning they were virtually unable to play Anno 117 during that time.
By December 25, the nightmare was over on PC – but only on PC. Presumably for technical reasons, the developers were unable to easily disable the snowfall on consoles.
As a result, people playing Anno on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S had their gaming fun literally ruined for days.
