Stalker 2 has received a surprise new update, bringing new missions, locations, and NPCs to all players.
Christmas is on December 16, at least according to GSC Game World. That’s because a comprehensive, free update for Stalker 2 was released today. It primarily focuses on new content, including a new storyline and new locations. Here’s everything you need to know.
Christmas in the Zone
New storyline with eight quests
The most interesting feature for many fans is likely to be the new eight-quest storyline. Strange signals are appearing near Malachtis in the western part of the map, causing stalkers to experience headaches, nosebleeds, and hallucinations. You must respond to emergency transmissions and figure out what’s going on step by step.
New Locations
The update adds seven new locations to the Zone, some of which contain plenty of loot for you to find. Of particular note are the Fairy Tale Pioneer Camp and the old mine in the Red Forest.
In addition, some previously abandoned locations are now inhabited by stalkers. So it’s worth keeping your eyes open everywhere. In total, you’ll encounter six new NPCs in the zone, some of which are connected to the new storyline.
More new features
You now have access to a new hub in the burnt forest.
Fans of precision firearms can also look forward to a new weapon. The GP37V2 is a modified version of the GP37 rifle, transforming it into a deadly weapon for long-range combat. However, this comes at the expense of fire rate.
If you’re not busy enough between now and Christmas, just take a look at the link box above. There, our editor Kevin shows you a strategy for making video games more fun again.
And for fans of the apocalypse, we recommend this article by our editor Jan. He tells you about a mod that will keep the aging Fallout: New Vegas fun in 2025 (and probably 2026 as well). Perfect for the second season of the Fallout series, which starts on December 17 on Prime Video.
