To mark the tenth anniversary of Fallout 4 and the fifteenth anniversary of Fallout: New Vegas, Bethesda is releasing new editions of both games.
In the Fallout universe, atomic bombs fall on October 23, 2077, destroying human civilization. In keeping with the dark humor of the game series, the community celebrates Fallout Day on this date.
And this year, Bethesda also has a few announcements in store: Fallout 4 and Fallout: New Vegas are being released in new editions, which is causing fans more concern than excitement.
What’s included in the new editions?
First, here’s the most important information about the Anniversary Edition of Fallout 4 and the Anniversary Bundle of Fallout: New Vegas:
- Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition (release on November 10, 2025): A digital edition of Fallout 4 with all expansions and more than 150 official mods integrated into the game. There will likely be no new features beyond the additional content. The Anniversary Edition is also not a free update, but rather, similar to Skyrim, a paid upgrade for owners of Fallout 4. The price is not yet known.

- Fallout: New Vegas – Anniversary Bundle (release 2026): The bundle is a kind of collector’s edition with a physical box and various goodies, such as a statue of the robot Victor, pins, and patches. It includes Fallout: New Vegas with all expansions, but without new content or other innovations. The whole thing will cost 160 euros.

Not the announcement we were hoping for
For fans, the unveiling of the new editions usually elicits either an indifferent shrug, concerned questions, or simply disappointment:
- The new content shown so far for the Anniversary Edition of Fallout 4 is primarily skins for weapons, armor, or the Pip Boy. For many fans, the upgrade is simply not worth it.
- Concerned threads are also piling up on Fallout Reddits, fearing a similar mod debacle to the next-gen update. That made many mods unusable, at least temporarily. Although the Anniversary Edition is a paid upgrade, it cannot be ruled out that a free update for Fallout 4 will be released at the same time.
- Since the release of Oblivion Remastered, many fans have been hoping that Bethesda would also announce a new edition of Fallout 3 or New Vegas. The fact that only an expensive collector’s edition is coming instead is causing disappointment.
In addition to the new editions of Fallout 4 and New Vegas, Bethesda also announced new content for Fallout Shelter on Fallout Day and showed a trailer for the next update for Fallout 76, which also features the ghoul from the Fallout series.
The second season will start in December 2025, coinciding with the update. Recently, some exciting details about a popular faction and the whereabouts of Mr. House have been leaked. You can find more information about this in the box above.
