Hollow Knight Silksong will be released on September 4, 2025 – while fans are excitedly cheering, indie developers are trembling uncontrollably. After all, the platformer is the most requested Steam game and has been eagerly awaited for years!

The result: some developers are postponing their titles so as not to compete with the release of Silksong. “When the GTA of indie games is announced two weeks in advance, everyone freaks out,” writes Necrosoft Games on X. Their tactical role-playing game Demonschool was originally scheduled for release on September 3, but these plans have now been postponed by almost two months.

Devolver draws similar conclusions: As announced in the trailer above, the skill game Baby Steps will be postponed until September 23. Typical Devolver, they take the circumstances with humor: “Nate is allergic to hornets,” it says on Steam. An allusion to Silk Song’s protagonist Hornet.
