Fans of Battlefield 6 have already chosen the worst map of the beta – and of course, it’s the snipers’ fault.

Just one day after the start of the open beta for Battlefield 6, many fans have already decided which map they really don’t like.

There’s hardly anything more frustrating in video games than watching your character die without being able to do anything about it.

But while helicopters and tanks are hard to miss and hard to hear in Battlefield, snipers can sometimes catch you completely off guard. And if there are too many of them, the path to the next capture point becomes a real gauntlet.

This is exactly the problem you encounter on one of the maps in the Battlefield 6 beta.

Sniper Peak

While the two maps in Cairo and Gibraltar are only suitable for snipers to a limited extent due to their dense buildings, the situation is quite different on Liberation Peak.

The small mountain village has only a few small houses, and the bare hills offer little cover. However, sharp rocks are the perfect hiding place for snipers.

If you’re unlucky, you’ll find yourself facing a sea of reflective sights right after spawning and have to try to dodge shots from multiple snipers at once.

On Reddit, user edilclyde posted a fitting, albeit edited, image:

11,000 other players agree with their upvotes: There are more snipers nesting in the rocks of Liberation Peak than pigeons in an old church tower.

For example, randomidgit:

No joke, the most fun I’ve had on this map so far was when my squad members and I took turns running across the street to the next capture point, ducking from cover to cover to see how long we could stay alive. All you can hear is the constant whizzing of bullets. It’s that bad.

However, solutions to the problem are already being discussed in the thread. The most obvious one: mortars that could really give the snipers a hard time.

Like Smithy1138 notes, a mortar can already be seen in one of the trailers for Battlefield 6. Since not all gadgets are playable yet, it is very possible that mortars will actually be available at release. However, the number of snipers may also reduce itself. On the first beta weekend, players have to start as snipers to unlock an exclusive skin. Once they have completed this task, they may prefer to switch to one of the other three classes.
