More and more events worldwide are being cancelled due to the corona virus. Also the Esport is no exception. Now it is reported that this year’s E3 will also be affected.
The Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3, is actually supposed to take place in Los Angeles from June 9-11. The fair is considered the annual highlight of the gaming industry and has regularly been the scene of big announcements and revelations. Since California declared a state of emergency due to the Corona epidemic about a week ago, there has been speculation and discussion about the status of the fair.

Online event instead of trade fair?
Various bloggers and insiders have now scattered hints of a cancellation. The well-known US technology magazine Ars Technica reports with reference to unnamed sources that E3 will either be cancelled or converted into an online event.

So the fair could take place as usual via livestream. Devolver Digital, a possible sponsor of such a conference, made the following statement on Twitter:

This clearly indicates that E3 will not be held as a visitor fair this year as planned. The developer is calling on people to cancel their tickets and hotel bookings.

Rumour mill is bubbling
The well-known editor of Kotaku and industry insider, Jason Schreier, responded to the tweet from Devolver Digital as follows:

Official confirmation is pending
An official statement from the organizer is expected later today. It should be ready around 5:30 pm.

We will keep you up to date on this!
