The action role-playing game Last Epoch left early access in February 2024. Now the developers are back with a big update for Season 2.

The first trailer for the second season of Last Epoch is only 15 seconds long. However, the developers of the action role-playing game have already revealed the release date: On April 2, 2025, there will be a slew of new content, some of which is already known. In addition to the very short teaser, there is already a more detailed roadmap for the future of the rival of Diablo and Path of Exile.

What’s in Season 2?

The new season will be called Tombs of the Erased (in English, Tombs of the Erased). The new content will center around a powerful entity called concrete innovations :

  • Monolith of Fate: The endgame mechanic will be expanded with new objectives, enemies, and revised missions to make it more varied. There will also be new areas called Woven Echoes, where you can earn new rewards.
  • Weaver faction tree:With the help of the new Weaver faction, you can customize your Monolith timelines. It will be available to all players regardless of other faction affiliations.
  • Dungeons: Unspecified player requests are to be fulfilled and dungeons are to become more accessible for beginners.
  • Sentinel: Some of the class’s abilities will be adjusted, and Volatile Reversal will be completely overhauled.
  • Graves and Cemeteries:New zones that appear within Monolith Echoes and offer additional rewards.
  • Champions:Rare enemies that offer greater challenges but also greater rewards.
  • Endgame Crafting: There will be new ways to upgrade items.
  • New Endgame Bosses: To make the endgame more varied, new boss enemies will be introduced.

Apart from these new features, Season 2 is also supposed to fix numerous bugs, improve performance and introduce minor comfort enhancements.

Whether Last Epoch will make a big comeback with the Season 2 update remains to be seen at release. Currently, only a few thousand players are usually online at once on Steam. However, with a large amount of new content, this could change quickly. Whether it will be possible to match Path of Exile 2 or Diablo 4 remains uncertain.
