As you know, sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good. For example, volunteering as a tribute for the upcoming Baldur’s Gate 3 stress test and being able to see and play parts of patch 8 before everyone else – or to break a lot.
This is exactly what the developers of the role-playing highlight are currently calling for, as they are looking for willing players for their stress test for Patch 8 in January. The aim of the test is to find and eliminate any bugs and instabilities before the official release of the patch.So the more you break, the better!
This is how you register for the stress test
Before we explain the registration process, we will first list the basic requirements for participation:
- You own and play Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC via Steam, PlayStation or Xbox
- You have a Larian account, alternatively you can register via Steam or with your PlayStation or Xbox account
- You have time in January 2025
Mac players and owners of the Gog edition unfortunately cannot participate.

Here you then log in with your account and select your corresponding platform. If you register for PC or PlayStation, you have already fulfilled all the requirements. If you want to participate on Xbox, you must also register for the Xbox Insider Program and download the Xbox Inside Hub app.
Important to know: Registering for the stress test does not automatically guarantee access This means that you should keep an eye on your mailbox from time to time after registering. If you are selected for the stress test, you will find the invitation here.
Please also note that invitations will be sent in waves. Even if you don’t have an invitation when the test starts, you’re not automatically out of the running.
