New on Steam: You probably can’t play the most exciting game of the week

From alien horror to tactical pirate adventures – we show you the Steam highlights of the week.

As Christmas approaches, and while many of you may already be busy shopping for presents, Steam is of course once again offering new games this week that want to end up under the Christmas tree at the last minute.

But one of the highlights will remain a dream for many of you, because it requires a rather expensive setup.

Highlight of the week: Alien: Rogue Incursion

The Xenomorphs are returning – and this time, they’ll be more intense than ever before, provided you have the right VR equipment.

Alien: Rogue Incursion is a brand-new VR horror shooter for single players that lets you dive deep into the horrors of the Alien universe. The game tells a new story in which you, as former Colonial Marine Zula Hendricks, face off against the deadliest hunters in the universe on the uncharted planet Purdan.

Of course, you can use iconic equipment such as the M41 pulse rifle or the motion scanner as you fight your way through a dark research facility teeming with xenomorphs. The enemies are supposed to react dynamically and deviously, so you can expect a truly immersive adventure here.

• Neko Odyssey: This extremely cute adventure game is all about tracking down and photographing cute cats.

Tuesday, December 17

• Flint: Treasure of Oblivion: Do you like pirates and tactical turn-based combat on hex fields? Then this pirate adventure might be just the thing for you. Take a look at the trailer:

• Border Town (Early Access): Stardew Valley, with some building mechanics. You manually build buildings, cultivate fields, recruit villagers, beat up goblins… and of course, crafting is not to be missed in a game like this.

Wednesday, December 18th

• Emergency 112 – The Attack Squad: Tatü Tata, the fire brigade is here. The emergency call simulator has already been released for consoles at the end of 2023, and now you can also climb the turntable ladder and extinguish fires on Steam.

Friday, December 20

• Fountains: A Souls-like from an isometric perspective. You can even leave messages for other players, just like in Elden Ring.

• The Midnight Crimes: In this detective adventure, you play a war veteran investigating the disappearance of a child in a Victorian city. Your decisions should affect the investigation and the course of the story.
