Snail Games describe their latest project as asurvival sandbox MMO in which you explore new planets together with other players in a persistent universe, build colonies and achieve technological progress through your discoveries.

Open Universe instead of Open World

As an explorer and researcher, you land on unknown planets in For the Stars. Each world has its own ecosystems and you can find different resources and creatures

Use the resources you collect to build outposts and create new tools and equipment. By investigating alien artifacts and natural phenomena, you will always unlock new technologies

Your outposts grow through laboratories, factories and housing unitsto large colonies If you get stuck at one point when crafting or researching, you may find the missing resource or technology on another planet

For traveling through space, you design and build your own spaceship, which can be used and equipped for exploring, fighting or collecting resources, depending on your tasks.

The fighting is not only in space. On the planets, you defend yourself against enemy creatures and other players with freshly researched weapons and special abilities from Alien-Tech

You only have to compete with other players in certain zones, otherwise you build your colonies together with them and face the challenges of the game.

For the Star has been in development for three years, but a release date has not yet been officially announced. The game is set to be released for the PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5, as well as the Xbox Series X & S.
