The rumors have been confirmed and Ubisoft has indeed announced a new Anno. However, those who prefer to play via Steam are out of luck

The cat is out of the bag: The next Anno is set in ancient Rome and is entitledAnno 117: Pax Romana Along with a first trailer, Ubisoft also revealed some important information about the development game. Among other things, we now know that Anno 117 will not be available for purchase on Steam when it is released in 2025

What is known so far

In the official press release for the announcementall release platforms are listed:

The game will be available for Ubisoft+*, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna and Windows PC via the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store.

The fact that Steam is not mentioned here is certainly no coincidence. We can therefore assume that Anno 117 will not be available on Steam, at least at release. As in the case of Anno 1800the building game could be released on Valve’s platform at a later date. Here, however, it took over three years until the Steam release

We have of course also asked Ubisoft for a statement on a possible Steam release. The publisher does not want to comment on the topic at the moment It is possible that they themselves are not yet sure if and when Anno 117 could also end up on Steam.
