One of the most requested Steam games is coming soon: Farming simulator on an alien planet

In a few days, Lightyear Frontier will launch in Early Access on Steam, offering relaxed farming on alien planets

Lightyear Frontier is a futuristic farming simulator in which you explore the open world on alien planets and cultivate the new land. The Swiss army knife among the mechs will help you. The game is on many Steam users’ wish lists and, according to SteamDB&nbsp,

is the 72nd most requested game.

Start and cost of Early Access: The game will be released on March 19, 2024, but the price is not yet known. By the way, you can already play a free single-player demo on Steam

Platforms: The game will be released for the PC on Steam and also for the Xbox Series X/S. The farming sim is also included in Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription.

Infos about Early Access: The test phase should last around 1.5 years. During this time, the game will be expanded with new content, taking into account player feedback via the  Discord channel 

How to play Lightyear Frontier

It’s a relaxed farming simulation with a focus on exploration. farming and building your homestead. A mech serves as a kind of multifunctional tool, but there is no fighting

• Exploration: You can scour the various biomes of the planet and use a scanner to collect hidden knowledge. You can either travel in your mech or explore on foot.
• The Mech: You control a modifiable robot that you can equip with various tools. For example, you can fell trees with a saw, plant new seeds with a seed gun and then harvest the mature plants with a combine harvester.
• Environmental care: You clean the game world of pollution or remove invasive weeds to restore ecosystems.
• Base building: You build a space farm with houses, barns, beds and decorations, which you then cultivate.
• Coop: The game can be played with up to four players in co-op.

Lightyear Frontier received a lot of attention at the last Steam Next Fest in February and was the 13th most played demo.
