Xbox boss Phil Spencer announces a clear statement for next week. Meanwhile, there is already talk of Halo and Gears of War for the PlayStation

For a few days now, the gaming bubble on the Internet has been dominated by one topic: Are Xbox games like Starfield coming to the PlayStation?

Normally, when it comes to rumors in the video game industry, it’s always best to take speculation and claims with a large dose of skepticism. In the case of the Xbox topic, however, the evidence is quite clear

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire: That can be said with a clear conscience this time, because Microsoft itself has not even bothered to issue a clear rejection of the rumors in a statement.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer speaks out

Next week there will be news: In the form of Xbox boss Phil Spencer there is now a reaction from Microsoft. We hear you is a clear allusion to the circulating rumors. Then he writes:

We have a business update event planned for next week where we’ll share more details about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned

What is this vision for the future? So we can expect to hear either a confirmation of the new strategy to bring Xbox games to PS5 and Switch in a few days. Or Microsoft is planning something completely different. The fact is: Something is going on.

Halo and Gears of War soon on the PS5?

While we wait for next week’s news, the rumor mill continues to simmer and the list of Xbox exclusives that are soon to land on the Sony console is getting longer and longer.

The Verge reports on the freshly announced Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, according to IGN Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are said to be planning the console move. XboxEra meanwhile, has held out the prospect of a Starfield port for PS5.

Now two more heavyweights follow: Jeff Grubb from Giantbomb has announced in the in-house podcast Game Mess Mornings that according to his sources Halo and Gears of War will also be released for the Playstation in the future.

The Halo bandwagon in particular would probably be the final proof that Microsoft wants to seek its fortune away from its own console hardware in the future. We’ll know more next week

Are there any other Xbox exclusives that haven’t been mentioned yet that you’d like to see land on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch? What do you think of Microsoft’s impending change of course? Are you in favor of the end of exclusivity or should console manufacturers stick to this philosophy?
