Online multiplayers are supposed to connect players worldwide. However, they often bring out the players’ worst qualities. That’s why Valve is taking harsh measures in the current seasonal event in Dota 2

Since December 14 and until January 11 the seasonal event Frostivus 2023 is taking place in Dota 2. Players can secure numerous cosmetics to celebrate the festive season of winter and gift-giving.

In addition, Valve is handing out special gifts to the naughty and nice community members Those who have not attracted attention through toxic behavior and cheating in the past year will receive an additional gift. However, those who have been naughty will fall victim to the ban hammer

In this video you can see the streamer Mason, who was pointed to his gift in Dota 2 by his chat. Because of his toxic behavior, cheating and the associated bad behavior rating he has received the “highly toxic lump of coal” as well as a 15-year ban (until January 18, 2038).

As can be seen from the comments on his now (deleted Reddit post), he probably also made use of the “behavior boosting” methodology. In other words, someone else repeatedly played with his account to give it a better behavioral score

As Polygon reports, Valve announced a stricter approach to toxicity in Dota 2 back in the summer. It is now clear that this announcement was no empty threat.
