We show you Steam new releases that don’t immediately catch your eye. This time with fodder for building, shooter and role-playing game fans.

There are many hidden gems on Steam just waiting for resourceful divers. Once again, we’ve dug through the new releases to show you games deep beneath the surface.

This time we’re including: a survival role-playing game that emphasizes freedom, the cutest monster collecting since Pokémon, and a baller orgy against crazed robot hordes. Have fun with our weekly Steam secret tips!

The Bloodline

(Genre: Survival role-playing game – Release: October 5, 2023 (Early Access) – Price: 19,99 Euro)

The Bloodline stands out with its inviting low-poly graphics style, offers a huge sandbox world to explore, and is bursting with role-playing elements. You’ll explore a fantasy world, plan expeditions, fight monsters, and hunt for powerful equipment.

Ooblets

(Genre: Farming genre mix – Release: Oct 5, 2023 – Price: 28.99 Euro)

The game attaches great importance to the freedom of play. So it’s up to you which tasks you want to take on, who you want to help and who you want to step on. The Bloodline can even be played as a shooter with appropriate weapons!

Bla, bla, Stardew Valley something. What an editorial introduction! I have to admit: The comparison comes to mind always first when talking about farming life simulation, at least on the PC. Ooblets mixes the formula with Pokémon-style monster collecting, moreover.

You grow the squeaky-cute Ooblets as if they were plants, harvesting and collecting different species. Instead of fighting, however, you’ll engage in tactical dance competitions with them! You’ll also get to know the villagers, rebuild a dilapidated farm … yes, just like in Stardew Valley.

Battle Shapers

(Genre: Roguelike shooter – Release: October 3, 2023 (Early Access) – Price: 24,50 Euro)

Hey, the obligatory roguelike is back! This time you’ll be shooting your way through masses of renegade battle robots to save the lost New Elysium in Battle Shapers. As usual for the genre, each death not only brings you around the corner, but also gameplay progress.

This way you’ll get more powerful weapons and abilities to advance further and further. You’ll get the latter from bosses, the brutal overlords. They pose a special challenge at key points.

Dotage

(Genre: Roguelike build – Release: Oct 4, 2023 – Price: 17.49 Euro)

Roguelikes rarely come alone these days, but more often in very different guises. Behind the cuddly facade of Dotage is a pretty tough build-up roguelike in which you have to farm against the impending apocalypse

As the village elder, you have a rather disturbing vision. Now you have to prepare your village and its inhabitants as well as possible for the impending end of the world. The build-up elements are turn-based.

My Little Universe

(Genre: Sandbox dungeon crawler – Release: Oct 5, 2023 – Price: 14,79 Euro)

Don’t let the colorful and cheerful exterior of My Little Universe fool you, there’s quite a bit of gameplay depth in here. You start with a few tools on a lonely moon, from there you have to advance to other planets, which sometimes harbor great dangers.

If you wish, you can explore many different planets in co-op with friends, descend into dangerous dungeons, collect valuable loot and resources, improve your equipment and help rid the planets of monsters.

Did you find a new game for you in this week’s list? If so, which one will you be trying out? Feel free to post it in the comments!
