Counter Strike 2 is finally here and ready for (free download on Steam) Valve, the game’s developer, had previously released a few videos to prepare players for the improvements compared to CS:GO and now there is an extensive comparison video.

Uriginally, Counter Strike 2 was supposed to hit the market in the summer, but the release was postponed. Now the game is finally available and can be downloaded. Despite the improved graphics, the minimum requirements are moderate, with 85 GB of hard drive space, a quad-core processor, a graphics card with at least 1 GB of memory and Shader Model 5.0 support, and 8 GB of RAM. Counter Strike 2 is available for Windows, Linux, and SteamOS

The main minimum requirements for Counter Strike 2 are as follows:

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • Processor: 4 hardware CPU threads – Intel Core i5 750 or higher.
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Graphics card must be at least 1 GB, support Shader Model 5.0 and compatibility with DirectX 11 is recommended.
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Memory: 85 GB of available memory

The improvements Valve previously announced include changes to smoking behavior, a reduction in tick rate restrictions, and more. However, a detailed video from HS Top shows other changes from CS:GO, including more realistic character injury reactions, transparent Molotov cocktails that show the liquid in the bottle, and smoke trails from projectiles in the air.

Counter Strike 2 is a welcome update to the popular game, offering players a fresh gaming experience. It remains to be seen how the community will react to the new improvements and new look.
