Riot Games has to adjust LoL Champion Briar again – Community reacts annoyed.

The latest League of Legends champion Briar was released a week ago and landed with a crash landing in the Summoner’s Rift. With a disastrously low win rate, Riot Games was forced to buff the new character via hotfix.

The effect of the hotfix

Although Riot Games was cautious about the buffs, according to their own comments, Briar’s win rate shot up from the initial 32% to a whopping 51%. The improvements stretched a little too far past the goal of providing an easier entry point with Briar.

Now Riot Games staff announces August nerfs for the next update.

What will be changed?

Riot Games sees the problem with their ability to restore lives and commented on the changes as follows:

“We are going to weaken Briar, a bit in the next update. In doing so, we are focusing on her healing ability with few items and especially against monsters and minions…”

Riot plans to reduce her attack speed per level from 2.5% to 2.3% and make some other changes to the W ability. So the ability should do less damage against monsters and minions, execute them only from less health points and heal Briar less.

How does the community react?

League of Legends players have mixed feelings about the changes. For although some players were happy to see Riot Games act quickly, others are disappointed that their new favorite character will now have to take a hit.

One X(formerly Twitter) user criticized the actions of the development team and had anticipated the development. The post shared the opinion that players simply need to get used to the character and Riot Games should refrain from making hasty changes.

The actions of Riot Games are now being met with divided opinions and it remains to be seen if the development team made the right decision with the announced change.
