For many FIFA fans, the anticipation of EA FC 24’s beta has just turned into massive perplexity.
About a month and a half before the release of EA Sports new soccer game FC 24, the closed beta phase has started on consoles. For many fans, the soccer game is one of the most eagerly anticipated titles of this year. But the anticipation has apparently quickly turned into confusion for many fans.
Confused players end up on the golf course
What happened? Many players who had received closed beta codes were excited to download and try out the game as early as possible. However, instead of landing on the virtual soccer field, some apparently found themselves in the world of professional golf.
When redeeming the beta code, they were confronted with a screen confirming that they were downloading a game from the PGA Tour series. Even more confusing was that the cover of the download on the players showed a PGA game, even though the title of the game was LoremIpsum 42 XSX.

The reactions were not long in coming. Many gamers voiced their confusion on social media and EA’s forums. The (Publisher Answers HQ) and Twitter, now known as X, were immediately flooded with questions.
Some turned to EA’s live chat support, with varying degrees of success: some support staff didn’t even know beta codes had already been distributed.
The placeholder-breakdown
But behind the mysterious golf game actually hid the beta of EA FC 24, the cover and the name LoremIpsum 42 XSX are logically only placeholders. In the meantime, players have also found that out, if they were brave enough to complete the mysterious download.
But apparently many players have preferred to go straight to the EA forum, where about 40 pages of confused, disappointed and also angry comments have accumulated by now – and the number keeps growing:

The fact that many other players have already tried to resolve the confusion by pointing out the placeholder is probably just willingly overlooked there. EA has not commented on the problem
yet.
