Another athlete gets his own operator skin in Call of Duty. This time we can look forward to an NBA star from Phoenix.

After Neymar, Messi and Pogba already celebrated their debut in Call of Duty, another operator from the world of sports will appear in May. This time, however, it won’t be on the soccer field, but on a basketball court.

EasyMoneySniper in MW2 and Warzone 2

U.S. professional basketball player Kevin Durant will appear as a standalone operator in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 and CoD mobile in May, according to Call of Duty’s official Twitter account.

Hidden in a short trailer, a house facade reads “EasyMoneySniper,” which is one of the nicknames for NBA star Kevin Durant, along with KD and Durantula.

The basketball player is known to enjoy wielding the controller and even thought of starting his own CDL team in the summer of 2022.

Back in 2021, the 208 cm tall player invested in the New York Subliners and in an interview with former late-night host David Letterman, he was very open to future involvement in gaming.

Community not very enthusiastic

In social media, however, the announcement is met with criticism. Many users are critical of the move and would rather see operators who are already intertwined with Call of Duty’s history or are closer to the FPS genre than stars from the sports world

In the comments below the post, the community is anything but thrilled to once again see an athlete in Call of Duty instead of a long hoped for collaboration with the John Wick franchise:

“Kevin Durant…. he’s us expecting John Wick or something…. NBA player… wow thanks.

What’s with adding sports players to a “modern warfare” game. It makes no sense to have a basketball player running around with military soldiers. It is what it is I guess, just call of duty being call of duty.

I- um man why not do something that is similar to your product? man “
