Milio is the newest champion in League of Legends. Who the new support is and what he can do, we have summarised for you

It’s been quiet around the Runeterra region of Ixtal since the release of Qiyana 2019, but the time has finally come again – a new champion from Ixtal is coming to the Summoner’s Rift. His name: Milio, the protective flame. But the LoL support is not only a new representative of Ixtal, he also fulfils some long-awaited wishes of the community.

Who is the new champion?

Milio is a young boy from Ixtal who has mastered the fire axiom and thus uses elemental magic just like Qiyana. However, unlike Brand, he does not use the flames primarily to harm others, but to support them. This makes Milio the first male character in League of Legends to support and buff his ADC as an Enchanter.

With plenty of baggage in his large backpack and his fuemigos, he has left home to join the Yun Tal, the ruling caste from Ixta,l and bring his family back from exile.

The developers drew inspiration for his story and design from Disney’s Coco and Encanto as well as Pokèmon.

What abilities does Milio have?

As a Support, most of his abilities are designed to support his ADC. Thanks to his Passives, Milio’s abilities enchant allies upon their touch. The allies deal extra damage and burn the opponent.

With his Q, Milio shoots a ball that knocks enemies back. On hit, the ball is flung upwards and falls on the opponent to damage and slow them.

Milio creates a force field with his W that heals allies and grants them extra attack range. The zone follows the ally closest to the force field when it is created.

Milio’s E creates a shield. He can cast it either on himself and the ally or twice on his ADC to boost his shield.

His ultimate ability unleashes a flame wave that heals allies and removes crowd control effects. Among other things, it can also be used to stop Urgot’s Ulti, which was previously impossible.

Since he can keep opponents at a distance well with his Q and increases the attack range of his ADC with his W, Milio is especially suitable as support for allies with an already high range such as Caitlyn, Kog’Maw or Aphelios.

When can you play him?

From 7 March Milio is already playable on the PBE servers. His official debut in the Summoner’s Rift will be on 22 March.

After the last Champion releases, Milio is the first character in a long time with a simple ability kit that doesn’t seem completely overloaded.
