Players:inside have the opportunity within CSGO to give the available weapons a coat of paint. Now a skin worth more than 400,000 US dollars has appeared on the net.

The decision should be relatively easy for most: either give the virtual Kalashnikov a new coat of paint or buy a car, a house and maybe a boat in return. What sounds like a bad joke is, according to CSGO fan Jake “Luksusbums” Lucky, completely serious.

For a bit of colour

In Counter-Strike, different visual changes for the weapons that can be used in the game can be bought via Lootboxes. At random, players are credited with a skin, which sometimes has more, sometimes less value. The StatTrak™ 661 Pattern AK-47 Case Hardened Skin, which also comes with four Katowice 2014 stickers, is said to be one of the most expensive visual customisations in the history of CSGO. YouTube and content creator Jake Lucky has reported an offer of $400,000.

Why is this skin so expensive?

The special thing about the skin in question is not only the pattern 661, which has only been registered 119 times worldwide in CSGO to date, but also the colour that is used here is the most intense blue that can be recognised by players within the game. A StatTrak™ perfect blue skin is also extremely rare – there are only 11 registered skins in the entire game so far.

In addition, there are four Katowice 2014 stickers, which are worth no less than 70,000 US dollars each, as long as they have not yet been applied to a weapon or skin.

Whether this number of features justifies the cost of 400,000 US dollars is more than questionable. At least, according to Lucky, the owner is completely convinced of it.
