Call of Duty: Warzone now has more banned accounts than other titles have players. Over half a million cheaters have now been banned.

No mercy for cheaters: over 30,000 accounts have been banned in the Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone in the past week. This brings the number of banned cheaters to over 500,000, according to co-developer Raven Software.

However, the milestone in the fight against cheaters does not only bring happy reactions from the community. For example, it is unknown for which offenses players will be banned and what exactly the bans will look like. Since Warzone is available for free, cheaters may be able to bypass bans and simply create a new account. Additionally, some fans reported that their account was hacked and subsequently banned.

Despite cheater plague and bans no player shortage in sight

It is true that with the latest wave of bans, the impressive amount of almost half a million accounts have now been banned. However, when comparing this number to users as a whole, there is no reason to worry about a potential player shortage. In April 2021, the title cracked the impressive figure of over 100 million players worldwide. It is questionable how many more cheaters are among those 100 million users.
