The Electronic Entertainment Expo is returning as an offline event. Fans on site will be included in the gaming trade show.

This year, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was cancelled, but this is not the final end of the event. On Thursday, video game show officials confirmed that E3 will be held again in 2023. It is even planned as an offline event with guests and audience.

June 2023 is when it’s supposed to happen – E3 will return in all its glory and with new partner ReedPop as an offline event. The company organises other mega-events such as the Comic-Con in New York or also Star Wars Celebration. As before, the gaming event will take place at the Convention Center in Los Angeles.

However, it does not seem to be planned exclusively as an offline event. There will also be a “Digital Showcase”. However, fans will have the opportunity to test brand new games on site and gain their first gaming experience. At the showcase, players who are not present at the Convention Centre will also be able to get a first glimpse of the upcoming games and content.

In contrast, E3 took place entirely online in 2020. There, the novelties of the gaming world were shown with trailers, but there was no possibility to test and play new games. This year, E3 was cancelled completely. After all, developers are increasingly tending to hold their own online events, like Sony’s State of Play or the Nintendo Direct.
