In FIFA 22 Ultimate Team the brand new promo Shapeshifters starts with the end of the Team of the Season. Leaks report a release with potential meta cards in June.
Multiple leakers have revealed information about the new promo in FIFA 22 Ultimate. “Shapeshifters” is said to be the name, which translates to “Shapeshifters“. It would be a return of a popular promo that was still sitting out FIFA 21.
According to the leaker’s tweet “Fut Sheriff” on Wednesday, the Shapeshifters promo will feature “Position changes and big increases“. Shapeshifters last existed in FIFA 20.

Release reportedly scheduled for June 17
EA Sports has not yet announced anything official regarding a release of Shapeshifters. However, in addition to Fut Sheriff, other leakers let it be known that the promo will most likely start this Friday. This is because the annual Team of the Season (TOTS) highlight ends on 17 June, which makes a new promo action make sense from the developer’s point of view. Accordingly, Friday is being targeted from 7pm onwards.

In FIFA 20, well-known meta cards such as Ferland Mendy of Real Madrid have been changed in their tactical alignment. For example, the Frenchman was converted from a centre-back to a defensive midfielder in his Shapeshifters version. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo changed from a striker to a right winger.

Meanwhile, German midfielder Yannick Gerhardt is said to be available for free via Objective. Fut Sheriff speculates on a shot-stopping version of the Wolfsburg man, suggesting a positional switch to attacking midfield.
