With Title Update 1.6.0 for Assassin’s Creed Origins, various improvements hit long after release. Most of them, however, do not affect the PC.

Around five years after release, a new update for Assassin’s Creed Origins arrives. Although this is primarily aimed at owners of the new console generation, PC players can also expect a few improvements.

This is (probably) in Update 1.6.0

First and foremost, patch 1.6.0 for AC Origins delivers the ability to play the game in 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, a new franchise menu finds its way into the main menu, according to the (official post) on the Ubisoft forum.

These improvements do not explain why update 1.60 weighs in at a hefty 2.9 GB on the PC. Apparently, numerous bug fixes have found their way into the game after the previous patch caused a few problems. Performance and stability are also said to have been improved.

Detailed patch notes are not yet available. At least you can find the preliminary download sizes here, with the data for the new console generation to be added later:

  • PC: about 2.9GB
  • Xbox One: round 3GB
  • PlayStation 4: around 8.2GB

We will keep you posted and update this message as more information and official patch notes become available.

What’s happening in Assassin’s Creed?

The AC series in particular often takes flak for its formulaic world design. What makes a really good open world for us!

Information about a new Assassin’s Creed leaked as early as the end of 2021, which could overturn Ubisoft’s usual approach.

Last we put the DLC The Marks of Ragnarok to the test. The add-on for the latest part of the series AC Valhalla can entertain well, but also leaves opportunities along the way.
